Freight One invested 80 million rubles in the modernization of Gryazi VRP in 2019
Freight One (PGK), as part of the second phase of the reconstruction of Gryazi Railcar Repair Depot (VRP), located in the Lipetsk Oblast, reconstructed the press plant and the car assembly shop.
“The second phase of the modernization of Gryazi VRP is carried out as part of the program to strengthen the repair safety of Freight One. We are moving towards the creation of a high-tech enterprise, which in its capabilities will meet all modern requirements for the work performance. Thus the company will be able to fulfill its obligations to customers on time regardless of market changes. We hope that with the end of modernization, the capacity of Gryazi VRP will increase by one and a half times,” Alexander Osintsev, the Director General of Gryazi VRP, said.
The reconstruction lasted 9 months. During this time, the press plant area was increased by 168 square meters. New equipment has been placed here for changing wheelset elements during the overhaul of SONK (old axle/new wheel) in the amount of 7200 pieces per year and checking them after work completion. In particular, the new wheel-boring machine allows increasing productivity by 1.5-2 times, and the accuracy of part processing – by 2-3 times. The press plant reached its design capacity on October 1.
In addition, during this time, the area of the car assembly site was expanded by 552 square meters. Now it is possible here to repair up to 12 units of rolling stock at the same time, which is 2 units more than before reconstruction. Due to this, the volume of planned repair of open cars will be increased from 6,200 to 7,500 units per year. The site was commissioned in early November 2019.
