JSC Freight One the First Among Russian Transport Companies to Implement SAP S/4HANA
Joint Stock Company Freight One (JSC Freight One) declared start of operation for the software solution SAP S/4HANA and the SAP Transportation Management module adapted to the specific features of the activities carried out by the operator. The new IT-platform would allow automation of the key business processes running within the company and increase the railcar fleet management efficiency and the customer service quality. The project is implemented by the SAP Digital Business Services team – a service subdivision of SAP.
Sergey Karataev, CEO of JSC Freight One commented saying, “By implementing SAP the company confirmed its leading edge in application of the best practices and proved the capability to solve complicated transformational problems. As the result of the foregoing the activity carried out by JSC Freight One entered a qualitatively new level of automation and control that would allow prompt and flexible response to market fluctuations, increase the level of servicing and the rate of responding to the demands of the consignors. Moreover, together with SAP we developed not just a system, but a “Digital Core” for the operator, on the basis of which advanced analytics and machine learning related to the railcar fleet management and performance of repairs along with provision of the online information for the customers and improvement of the interaction with them could be implemented in the future.”
“Provision of services for JSC Freight One is a unique and remarkable project for SAP. It is the first localization of the kind and setting of the solution in accordance with the specific features of a logistics company operation. Generally speaking, this large-scale transformation project is a very important step made by JSC Freight One towards becoming a modern company applying digital business processes,” pointed out Andrey Goryainov, Deputy CEO of SAP CIS.
JSC Freight One started its large-scale digital transformation project in 2017. Increasing promptness and improving quality of the managerial decision-making processes, cutting down the downtimes and empty trips of the railcars, and creation of a reliable infrastructure for functioning of information systems and data processing centers became the key missions set for the project.
